My Trip to Otranto

My Trip to Otranto

Apulia captivated me, and Otranto remains one of the places closest to my heart. I remember evening strolls as the day’s heat fades, and a cool sea breeze begins to fill the air. The twisting alleys of the old town buzz with life, full of little shops offering everything from handmade souvenirs to local delicacies. There’s an unmistakable magic here, a serenity that wraps you up. Simple pleasures, like a tomato bruschetta drizzled with rich olive oil, reflect the intense, authentic flavours of this land. And then, there's Baia dei Turchi at sunset, one of the most unforgettable moments of my trip!

Hidden bay on Hvar

Reflecting on my road trip through Croatia, Plaža Dubovica holds a special place in my heart. Tucked between the cliffs of Zaraće and Sveta Nedelja on the stunning island of Hvar, this small bay is a hidden gem. Park your car or scooter by the roadside and follow the steep path down to the beach. At the end, you’ll be greeted by a serene bay with crystal-clear waters. Lay out your towel on the pebbly beach, take a refreshing swim, and enjoy a drink at the cutesy beach bar while classical music drifts from the historic waterfront residence. In this magical spot, it truly feels like you’ve stepped out of this world.

 In the Light of Cadaqués

In the Light of Cadaqués

Cadaqués is a place that remains etched in my memory – almost supernatural in its beauty. The journey along the winding road through the rugged landscape of Cap de Creus feels like crossing into a different realm. In the village, narrow alleyways wind between whitewashed houses, and the unique light gives everything a soft, ethereal glow. In the evening, I found myself sitting by the shore, watching boats gently sway in the water as the sun dipped below the horizon. At a rustic taberna, I savoured freshly grilled fish with a glass of crisp white wine – simply perfect. It’s the blend of tranquillity, sea, and art that makes Cadaqués truly one of a kind.
