Tynemouth lies precisely as its name suggests, at the mouth of the River Tyne. Head down to the beach at Whitley Bay, where Geordies flock with their buckets and spades to build sandcastles, or you could try and hang ten at the surf-hub Longlands. With its ruined Priory and castle, this coastal town can also offer a bit of history during your seaside holidays in a B&B.

So book a B&B and spend a lovely coastal holiday by the sea, eating all the local delicacies caught nearby.
Bournemouth, Dorset
If you want to spark nostalgic childhood memories of family beach holidays, look no further than Bournemouth. This Victorian resort offers all the typical seaside pursuits such as fish and chips and an arcade on the iconic pier. Its beaches are some of the cleanest in the country, and the surrounding Dorset countryside offers plenty of tourist attractions for all the family.
