General information of the property: Bushwillow Estate is situated on 51 hectares of land on the banks of the Vaalkop Dam, within the Vaalkop Dam Nature Reserve in the North West Province The North-West Province of South Africa is known for its birdwatching and inland fishing, with over 300 bird species in the Vaalkop Dam Nature Reserve and Bird Sanctuary, an adjacent area of 800 hectares. Kudu, impala, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck hartebees, nyala, warthogs and monkeys are common sightings. Check-in is from 14:00 and please arrive before 19:30 at the estate gate. Avoid driving on the national or gravel roads at night - it’s just better to find your way in daylight. There is a communal swimming pool and braai area, trails for hiking or mountain biking, and good security. Participate in various self-guided activities, including game viewing, bird watching, or enjoy the nature by walking, running or mountain biking along the paths and roads in Bushwillow Estate and also the North-West Park Bird Sanctuary. Most of the way is a tarred road and the last 5 kilometres is a well graded dirt road. As much as we love animals, we regret no pets are allowed for safety and conservation reasons. There is very good security on the estate and controlled access. Check out: Before 10:00 am Rules of the property: The estate entry gates close at 19:30. There will be no access to the premises thereafter. Be sure to reach your destination in the day light. It’s not safe to drive on the North-West roads after dark. The number of guests booked may not be exceeded. The house can accommodate 7 people. (There is a daybed available in the living area to accommodate a 7thperson, on request) Stay on the footpaths and designated roads Keep in mind you are in the bushveld and you might encounter animals on the way. No fires allowed, only in the designated braai area No loud music, please bear in mind you are in a nature reserve. The use of radios, media players and the like, and the playing of musical instruments to the extent that others are disturbed, is prohibited. No noise should be audible from one property to the next between the hours of 22H00 and 07H00 and between 14H00 and 16H00. Bring binoculars, walking shoes, running shoes, mountain bikes, sun hat and sunscreen. It is not a malaria area, but bring mosquito and insect repellent Bring your own swimming towels No motorbikes and quadbikes allowed on the estate. Bring your own wood or charcoal for the braai. Unfortunately, strictly no pets, as it is a nature reserve Guests can walk freely around the estate, please just respect the privacy of other guests and the quiet of the beautiful nature. Only licensed pontoon and barge type vessels allowed on the dam SANparks does not allow canoeing or rowing on the dam. No swimming is allowed in the dam. Please keep the house doors closed when going out or at night, as there are bats and monkeys around and they will cause damage if they get into the house. The house is a no-smoking area, but guests may smoke in the designated braai area in front of the house. The house has no TV or Wi-Fi so you can make the most of your nature experience. Children should be supervised at all times, especially on the deck because of the balustrades, at the stairs and also in the jacuzzi. This property is located within a nature reserve and is a natural bush environment. Wildlife (including insects, reptiles, and animals), uneven terrain, and other natural hazards may be present at all times. By booking and staying at this property, guests acknowledge and accept that they do so at their own risk. The host, owner or staff of Bushwillow Estate or “Porini – in the wilderness”, shall not be held liable for any injury, accident, illness, loss, damage, or death to guests or their belongings arising from wildlife, natural conditions, or use of the property. Guests are responsible for their own safety and are expected to follow all safety guidance provided. Please stay alert and take care of yourself and your belongings at all times. The Property is private property, and the Association shall at all times have the right to reserve admission to the Property, to prevent any persons from entering the Property, and to remove any persons from the Property; There is a R 50 estate conservation fee charged per night for every car. It is included in your price of accommodation. Estate Security will impose a Noise Fine for guests who do not respect the quiet hours, especially in the evenings, which is payable at the gate upon leavening.
