Le Prieuré la Madelène

Nestling in Malaucène at the foot of Mont Ventoux, just a few minutes from Vaison-La-Romaine, Prieuré la Madelène is a charming, intimate guest house. To the sound of the cicadas or lulled by the wind in the midst of orchards and nature, this former 12th-century priory has changed with the passing of time and its inhabitants, and its solid walls, sometimes with exposed stonework, like the rough beams of its ceilings, are humbling, vibrating with a superior and reassuring power. A maze of levels, majestic rooms, nooks and crannies, views of the surrounding greenery, punctuated by terraces, a trellis, a fountain, an olive garden and a swimming pool. So many invitations to relax, rest and contemplate. Each of the rooms, unique and welcoming, has a bathroom with private toilet, soberly dressed in pastel water-green Briard enamel. Their names are a nod to the region, the history of this special place or a simple, intimate tribute.
