REBORDOSA In 2003, Rebordosa, the “Cradle of Furniture”, was elevated to the status of ‘city’, but its history dates much further back. Rebordosa is the perfect place for anyone who is looking for a more rural location since it is situated in a calm and pleasant valley. Its watercourses and hills assign it with an unique beauty that, through its natural seduction and green vegetation, takes us to another world, one completely different from any other place that we have ever seen. This city is situated in Paredes county, which in itself, is part of the Romanesque Route (Rota do Românico), a project that values this architectural style. Paredes has 5 of its 58 monuments. Even Rebordosa has many beautiful buildings, such as churches and chapels. One of the oldest is the “Mother Church” (1645) (Igreja Matriz), a true piece of art. Its altar, which is surrounded by gold carving details, is one of the most graceful examples of the Baroque style.
