Private granite terrace that catches the afternoon sun. We are in Airolo, in the upper Leventina valley at the foot of the Gotthard, at 1,175 metres. The ski lifts and the railway station are minutes away: you can get here without a car. Hundreds of kilometres of trails start at the door, and the great alpine passes are within a day's ride.
