Hassan II MosqueThe symbol of Casablanca is the Hassan II mosque. This huge building can house more than 25,000 believers. The Minaret of the Hassan II Mosque is with 210 meters the highest minaret in the world. Every morning between the prayers you can visit the mosque with a guide. The guide tells you all about the mosque and the Islam. The Hassan II mosque is also the only one in Morocco that you can visit as a westerner.
The old medinaThe old town, also called medina, consists of an old and a new part. There are several souks in the narrow streets in the centre; traditional Arab markets filled with all kinds of products for sale. This varies from the most delicious Arabic delicacies to the most amazing fabrics and the most beautiful artefacts. And remember: dapping is part of an afternoon shopping here! Take a break in your B&B from Bed and Breakfast Casablanca after a day full of exciting impressions.
City of extremesAs you've already noticed, Casablanca is a town of extremes. As you exit the Old Town, you arrive in a newer part of town, where you'll find large, modern shopping centres with Western fashion chains, ranging from Gucci and Louis Vuitton to Zara and H&M. In this part of the city, the architecture, and thus the atmosphere, is completely different from the centre. The accommodations offered by Bed and Breakfast Casablanca here are also a little different from those in other parts of the city. You also notice many French influences in the modern part of Casablanca, so enjoy the true French patisserie.
