The rugged landscape is ideal for an active style seaside holiday spent birdwatching or swimming in the waves.<\/p>\n

One of the most unspoilt stretches of sand in the UK, Holkham consistently tops the best beaches lists. Well worth a visit, if just to watch horses playing at the water’s edge!<\/p>\n

Mudeford Sandbank \u2013 Dorset<\/h4>\n

Dorset has many of the best beaches in the UK all along its coast, making it a long-time favoured destination for summer holidays. You can reach the Mudeford Sandbank by ferry from Mudeford Fishing Quay, where there are plenty of rockpools for crabbing. Walk along the powder-soft sand and admire the beautiful, and very expensive, coloured beach huts. Then retire to your affordable B&B in nearby Christchurch. Summer holidays don’t get better than this.<\/p>\n

Barafundle Bay, Pembrokeshire, Wales<\/h4>\n

In the southwest corner of Wales, Pembrokeshire has the best beaches for all the typical summer activities. Still, Barafundle Bay is a bit different from most. This small sandy bay is one of the more remote stretches of seashore and is only accessible by foot. The powerful Irish sea is popular with surfers, and the sea is so blue it has been likened to the Caribbean! Unfortunately, the weather is not so reliably tropical!<\/p>\n
