Holidays in Holland

Holland is as characteristic as it is small. In historical cities such as Amsterdam and Delft you step back into the Golden Age, while Maastricht and Den Bosch radiate a Burgundy culture. Amsterdam

Amsterdam: cosy, vibrant, and the cultural heart of Holland. In the ring of canals and the Jordaan you can still taste the atmosphere of the Golden Age. Amsterdam houses the best museums, such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. And, if you have the nerve, walk along the famous Red Light District (de Wallen) or visit one of the many coffee shops.

Art and culture in Holland

There is no lack of museums and cultural stages in Holland. Amsterdam tops everything, but the other cities also have plenty to offer. What about Museum Boymans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Bonnefant museum in Maastricht or the Kröller-Müller Museum, in the midst of National Park the Hoge Veluwe? Famous pop stages are De Effenaar in Eindhoven, Rotown in Rotterdam and 013 in Tilburg. Apart from that, every Dutch city of size has its own theatre.

Nature and recreation in Holland

Holland is green, full of water and flat and thereby makes the perfect country for cycling. Typical Dutch: cycling through the polders, along mills and bulb fields. You can also take wonderful walks and go horse riding in afforested provinces such as Drenthe, Gelderland and North-Brabant. For strong mountain bike tours, the hilly South-Limburg is the place to visit. A very special activity is a walk along the Dutch Shallows (Wadden), through the beautiful Wadden Sea, for example to the islands of Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.

Going out to eat and nightlife in Holland

Burgundy enjoyment couldn’t be enjoyed better than in the South of Holland. Maastricht, Den Bosch , Breda: beautiful historical cities with numerous pubs and restaurants. Here you experience the real sociability of Limburg and Brabant, but of course, the other cities also know how to enjoy and entertain. Going out to eat in student city Groningen, to the theatre in Amsterdam, dancing in the clubs of Rotterdam or toast in the pubs of the Achterhoek: choose what you want to do!
